  • Vermiculite is a lightweight mineral substrate with a fine grain size between 0.3 and 4 mm, primarily intended for specific uses in herpetoculture, particularly for egg incubation.

Thanks to its expanded structure, vermiculite offers high water retention capacity while maintaining good internal aeration. When properly prepared, it helps maintain stable humidity levels around the eggs, contributing to a consistent environment throughout the incubation period.

Its fine granularity ensures good contact around the eggs without applying excessive pressure. It can be moistened according to the protocol suited to the species being incubated, respecting the recommended water-to-substrate ratios.

Vermiculite may also be used for certain specific applications requiring a lightweight and insulating substrate, but it is not intended to serve as a main substrate for the permanent housing of reptiles in a terrarium.

This product must be used within an appropriate setup and with precise control of humidity and temperature parameters.
